I moved into this complex in July 2004. At the time the staff, grounds and buildings were great. Lori was the leasing agent that I had (she is no longer there...not sure if that was her choice or the result of new management).
Regardlesss, I have noticed a decline in the property since the takeover by BRE Properties. The most noticeable problems are the gates being broken, different clientele of residents, carpets in the common areas not being cleaned as regularly. I don't know if it was coincidence but I began to not feel as safe in the area right around the same time that BRE took over. I had to call LAPD because I literally thought that a woman was being murdered upstairs in broad day light. They never did find her, however immediately after I called individuals began making "noise complaints". The most interesting part was that security and management found that the complaints had no merit, I believe it was simply retaliation for me calling the PD. Again I refer to the difference in clientele.

The apartments themselves are very nice. You sacrifice square footage for updated, modern units, which was worth it to me. Some of the people I work with live at The Heights, right next door and really like it.

I use to live here, even gave them a good review. I was considering moving back. My old apartment was still available. But after all I have read about what has happened since the management change, I have decided to move on. Too bad, this place used to be great.

I agree too! My leasing agent was nice- butshe was fired when Bre took over. Now any time you call you get "Keisha" with the bad attitude, or "Arnold's" voice mail.

everytime you have any sort of problem you are instructed to call "management"... however, everytime you call you get a recording which states the office is open early in the morning (whis is false 'cause they open at 12:00noon) and are redirected to a gereral mailbox, or simply hung up on!

Arnold and Keisha got the BOOT! This place still has not changed. BRE Properties, Inc.'s peer group consists of the following: Apartment Investment and Management Company (AIV), AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (AVB), Camden Property Trust (CPT), Essex Property Trust, Inc. (ESS), Home Properties, Inc. (HME), Post Properties, Inc. (PPS), UDR, Inc. (UDR)

I absolutely agree with all postings. I've lived here for a year and a half and nothing has changed. There is a new manager, Ansel, who is trying to reach out to residents and try to solve the many problems plaguing this complex. Hopefully she will fix what ruins this place. I am tired of the slovenly, inconsiderate, loud, and classless residents who move into the complex. The noise is the worst, especially in the back near the hideous parking structure: gun-shot noises from METAL speed bumps, the loud slamming of the glass building doors, people blaring their car radios as they drive the back road during all hours of the day and night, shouting, fighting, trash everywhere, broken washers and dryers, printers and jacuzzis that are not fixed for months at a time. The pool is often cold and dirty. There is no storage of any kind...even the dump where I lived prior to Villa Azure had storage. There are no amenities included in the overpriced rent for the closet-sized units and important documents residents sign at the request of management are often "lost" before we get a copy, I would seriously discourage anyone from moving into this complex until serious changes occur.
