I lived at Villa Azure for 4 1/2 years. When Aimco managed it I didn't have any problems. After Bre took over things changed. The pool heater suddenly "broke" and needed parts that were "on order" for several months- not suprisngly the coldest months when they would have had to pay more to heat it.

They raised everyones rent by as much as a couple of hundred dollars as soon as their lease was up. They forced you to either sign a new lease too, or pay a few more hundred dollars a month if you didn't want to sign up for another year.

The biggest problem about raising the rent, suddenly it cost the same to live there as it did to live in better areas like Marina Del Rey, and Santa Monica... so alot of the "professional" residents lke myself moved to those areas.

The vacancies were filled by anyone who could cough up the rent. My new "neighbors" were suddenly people I really wouldn't have chosen to live near. There were loud parties every weekend. There were unbelieveably loud fights. Apartments were broken into. Two neighbors I knew had their cars broken into, one person I know was car-jacked when he pulled into the parking garage. A child molestor started approaching kids while they were in to pool area. (They did evict him at least when everyone complained repeatedly). The worst thing I saw... A cat was thrown to its death from a 4th floor balcony in front of witnesses below by someone pissed off at its owner... I could go on and on.

I finally had enough and moved out when a man started beating a woman in front of my ground floor balcony. We called the police, but when it seemed they might not get there fast enough (the guy was screaming "I'm gonna kill you -----" while he held her down hitting her) I went out and yelled (from a safe distance) "You'd better stop... the police are on their way". He then came after me yelling "You white folks need to mind your own business". I made it to my apartment and bolted the door!

When the police finally came... I came out to talk to them along with 4 other tenants from apartments in the building who had seen it all. Suddenly the "guard" who hadn't done a thing while the attack was going on came out to vouch for the attacker!!! He told the police "I know this brotha ... he's cool". WHAT A JOKE!!!!

I moved out right away after that incident since the guy knew where I lived. The management insisted on charging me a 2000.00 fee to break my lease.... even though I had been threatened by the guy, and was scared to continue to live there. Others who had spoken to the police also are moving... and are also having to pay Villa Azure 2000.00 JUST TO LEAVE!!!!

I wonder how much money this place makes off people who leave due to their non-existent tenant screening process'' I ran into one lady in the laundry room who was leaving after being there just two months! She said she couldn't take it anymore. Cha-Ching!!

I wouldn't recommend moving there no matter how pretty the grounds are! Don't tour it on a week day afternoon... park in front on Saturday night and see how many times the police are called!

I agree! I moved in 12-05 on a 1yr lease and I am ready to go. It's too noisey, it's like a college dorm with thr loud music and party. I just started posting reviews on any site I can find.

This is what I say: The complex is eye candy. As far as living, hope you have ear plugs. The entire complex echoes and if you rent there, don't pick an apt across from the trash chute. Tenants go in and out the trash chute all night and day so you will hear the door slam and trash going down the chute especially when you are trying to sleep. Also the walls are very thin so you will hear everything, I mean everything! But the complex is gated with security and it has a gym, pool, jacuzzi, cabannas. Don't let the luxury outweigh your living circumstances if you are thinking about moving there. For the price of the rent it's not worth it. I pay $1459 month and can afford it, but I don't plan on renewing my lease. Good luck!
