I have lived in various apartment complexes through out the country and Villa Azure was by far the worst place I have ever lived.
I have always been of the feeling that things are what you make of them and you can make an event or situation the best experience ever or the worst experience ever. That said, I did everything I could to make this a positive situation and place to live for my son and I. I tried everything in my power to make this a positive experience and I couldnt.

1. The Ants: I regularly get pest control every month and I have never had anything more than the occasional pest. But OMG. I was getting pest control every other week. During the summer, I got it EVERY WEEK! I bought ant traps, spray, foggers and a friggin ton of Windex. The office staff didn't think it was a big deal. "Just spray the area the ants are in with windex, that will take care of the problem" 8 bottles of windex later... The ants were so bad I couldn't keep food in the apartment. I tried keeping everything in garbage bags thinking that would save my food but no. I hired a maid service to scrub my apartment from top to bottom and that didn't work. I kept my apartment SPOTLESS and I consistently had a problem with ants. I fogged my apartment 3 times. I had to wash everything each time after that, clothes, dishes, all my son's toys... One night I woke up to my son screaming becuase he had ants in his bed and was getting bitten in his sleep. I never asked the office for reimbursment for any of the products that I bought. I asked to be transferred to a different apartment and the manager told me oh ok sure we can help, you just have to pay a $250 transfer fee and repay your original deposit and we cannot guarantee you won't have the same problem....Yeah, let me pay $750 plus however much movers cost just to have the same problem in a new apartment.
2. Crime: I had to go to the office every day for over two weeks to pick up my mail because someone broke into the mail boxes in my building. On two different occassions, cars were left on cinder blocks in the parking garage becuase their wheels were stolen. Walking my dog or taking my son to the playground, I would smell marijuana on a daily basis. I purchased books and dvd's from amazon.com and stupidly, the UPS guy left them at my door and they were stolen.
3. Office staff: the office staff is mixed. Some good, some so-so and some just awful! It seems the good ones have smartened up and left and now all thats left is an awful assistant manager and community manager. The assistant manager, oh excuse, the ASSISTANT COMMUNITY MANAGER (I got corrected because I forgot to add the word "community" in her title when I asked for her) is so completely rude its obnoxious. You go into the office to ask her a question and even if no one else is in the office you can totally tell that she is just beyond annoyed by the fact that I am asking her a question. And when she answers you, her tone is so harsh and belittling you leave feeling stupid for asking a question and you feel bad for bothering her.

I was planning on breaking my lease, but lost my job on Dec 30th, so I can't until I find another job and can make sure I can afford their lease break fees so I don't screw up my credit! Keep your fingers crossed!!

Villa Azure is a complete disaster from top to bottom and needs to be sold to another company that will attempt to create a better community because as you all can see, BRE Properties does not care about it's assets, even if there is a corporate office running out of Villa Azure, and you know what, that's what makes all this so pathetic. There is a regional manager working in the back there and this place is a complete madhouse! How does the regional manager come into the office every day, to see all the broken into cars, apts. etc. and not make any attempt to make things better it just makes me sick.

Thanks so much for your responses listed above... - I too was very interested in living there and was just brushed off, they didn't take my application, would Not return any of my phone calls/messages. They hardly ever would answer their dang phones. They told me that they only had a couple apartments on special left so I needed to go back there, but it was a 2 hour drive, I work a LOT of hours each week and do not have time to just run down there when they won't even return my calls to let me know what & if they had any available. So, over 4 weeks LATER it was like; oh well we don't have any left, you should have contacted us SOONER!! Duhhh B*t*hs!!!!!!! I was So mad at the So Much "Lack" of concern and everything. It wasn't until after I wrote a couple emails to the corporate office about it that I Finally got the replies back "apologizing" and saying they had 1 left, but I had "Missed the Special"!!! and the male that I had originally spoke to and showed me the apartments was "no longer with the company" they said. - I didn't know it was Unsafe too, so Thanks So Much!! and the Ants, OMG I just Cannot believe they just kept blowing you off!!! - Try getting those "Plug-ins", they come in a pack of 4 and 5 for only $20.00 and all you do i plug them into the wall. A LOT of ants will come out.... and will be a rough 1-2 weeks....., but they will ALL be GONE after that! :) Trust me, I got these and that was a year ago and still NO Problems at all since.... and a $20.00 WELL SPENT!! and NO Bug Sprays, Fumes or anything. Good Luck and hang in there, hope you and your Son find a Better and Safer place to live REAL SOON!!! - & try "Writing to the Corporate Office", this is just SO Much UN-called for and Everything... Is NOT right.....
