This isn't a bad place to live, but it's really only for younger people under 30. The management allows a lot of younger adults from some sort of fashion school to live here. Were it not for them this place would be much much better. younger people tend to be more inconsiderate of their neighbors and the management could care less regarding this issue. It's not as if AIMCO pays their employees fair market wages in Los Angeles anyhow. It's beyond me how people under 25 can afford $3000 rent without living 4-6 people in a 2 bed apartment (fire hazard maybe)' Although these younger adults under 30 aren't haven't keg parties they do have their friends over all week long late into the night to pass the peace pipe and crank up the bass.
There is insulation in the walls of the apt, but not in the floors or ceilings. That means if you have a loud neighbor above or below you then you're screwed. Add to that if they are smokers (have a bong attached to them as an appendage) then all of that smoke goes into your apt, and it's perfectly legal to smoke in your apt thanks to some idiots in Sacramento who sold their souls to Big Tobacco. If your neighbors aren't smoking in their apt then their doing on their porch. Normally, no complaints from me unless I can't open my window all year long because the all the cigarette and pot smoke below blows into my open windows.
Enough about the inconsiderate neighbors, cause at least half the people here are perfectly fine and don't bother anyone and are quite friendly. A fair number of nice dogs and every now and then a good dog fight in the courtyard between a medium sized orphaned canine and his pint sized chihuahua nemisis. Oh and don't forget to look down where your walking. Their mother's don't live here.
The people who work here are all nice, but if you want something to get done you need to speak with Chad or Jose. Only those two get stuff done right the first time without having to be told 4 times.
Pool turns into a pond in winter, but the hot tub works all year round, and there are people working all day to clean up the mess from the dogs and kids under 30 who are too lazy and retarded to put their trash in a garbage can.
Security at the front gate is a joke, but since AIMCO can only pay front gate security minimum wage then you can't expect to see critical reasoning skills at work here. Still random vandalism occurs in the parking lots.
The staff try to hold get-togethers for the residents. I know they are trying hard to get people involved. Most of the complex doesn't show up for these events, so it would be nicer if they would remove those services and lower the rent. Mostly the under 30 crowd shows up for the free chips and alcohol. Sorry kids, no free pot this time...
Location of this complex is pretty good which is one reason for the high rent prices. Every now and then someone will get mugged in the evening a block away from Wilshire. Seems if you go south of wilshire the scene changes drastically. Poor street lighting and the such.
Overall this is low income housing with a nice paint job and well equipped staff.

right on, well said. I found the front admin staff to be oddly 'on' all of the time, as if thier next big break was coming from any tenant at any time. Creeped me out with the insincere, vapidness.

You guys sound so incredibly ridiculous. Buy a house! Hmmmmm never thought of that huh. I am under thirty which you seem to have a lot of problems with but I am living in my own home not an apartment. Maybe the older or should I say "above 30" crowd should move into their own homes or some sort of senior community so that you wont be bothered. I have never even lived in this community but I leased apartments for years and it is amazing to me to read these posts. People want everything to be just perfect with absolutely no noise but yet you choose to live with people on both sides of you, on top of you and under you and complain. Hilarious

anonymous has some serious issues and doesn't even live in Los Angeles because in LA homes are $1,000,000 . Since you own a home and don't live in an apt, much less these one's, troll somewhere else please.

As an older person (late 40's) I'd like a good night sleep between 1030 pm-630 am Sunday-Thursday! Weekends are another story, as I'm sure Fridays and Saturdays would be loud! I'd sacrifice 2 days a week for 5 days of relative quiet! I don't mind a little pot smoke, but I abhor the stench of a cigarette! Houses in this area are going for $750,000 which makes PLB a bargain (for the area). Not looking for perfection, just a little bit of consideration @ $2000/month! Is that too hilarious or what?
