Visconti is horrible....

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I recently moved out of the Visconti, and moving out was the best day of my life. We had problems from day one when we moved in. First, we had problems with our gas stove. It kept making a loud popping sound when we baked, and it smelled like gas. We reported it, and a week later, they looked at it and said nothing was wrong. The gas smell continued. Finally, after about a month, we got a new stove. In retrospect, I should have reported the potential gas leak to the gas company, I'm young though and didn't realize how serious that actually could have been. Also, our air conditioning never worked. The intake vent was in my room and the spinning fan kept hitting something metal and made a loud grinding noise while it was on. After numerous attempts to fix it, and my roommate having to stay home from work to meet the AC guy, they told us that the part they needed wouldn't arrive for six months!!!!! What a bunch of BS. They also told us that we had it set too cold (70 isn't that cold''') and that we'd formed ice on our unit and it was our fault. We had to go 2 weeks without AC (it easily passed 90 in our apartment each day, as it read on the thermostat). The grinding never got fixed and we could never sleep with the AC on. I woke up sweaty every morning during the summer. The final straw was our washing machine which began spewing water all over the floor one day. We told the management about the leak, and a week later, it still hadn't been fixed, so we had to literally go get Len to fix it. The machine broke again and we were so mad that we kept doing wash and let the water leak into the carpet. I'm sure there is a nice cluster of mold growing there now.... our little present for the wonderful people at Visconti. Also, my roommate and I had numerous packages go missing, and management said it was our fault and they were not responsible, even though they signed for the damn thing!!!
Also, it's in a really unsafe neighborhood. I wouldn't let my parents come visit because they'd freak out. On numerous occasions, I saw people doing drugs in the street, spray painting the sidewalk... I even saw a guy try and steal a car parked on the side street. The best one though, was the weekend before I moved out, my cousin and I sat on the porch and watched 10 LAPD arrest three guys on the baseball field across the street. There was an LAPD helicopter hovering above yelling at the guys "Stop where you are, get down on the ground and put your hands behind your head!!!!". It was quite a lovely way to spend my Saturday afternoon.
