My boyfriend and I moved in to Waterstone on Oct. 2008. Its has been the worse renting situation I have EVER been in! From the day we moved in its been one issue after another. I did a pre-walk through right before we were to move in and pointed out several issues that I wanted to be fixed before we moved in. This included touch up painting, cleaning the carpet(it had sooo many stains), showing the widows had water damage and asking if it was still a problem. Well upon our moving in the apartment was NOT painted nor were the carpets cleaned. After calling for several days I finally got a date of when the carpets would be cleaned and the unit painted. This required us to MOVE ALL of our furniture in to the small kitchen area and bathrooms. This was such a HUGE inconvience! not only that but the stains to this day are still there and I've had the re-shampoo 3times now! On top of that my second bedroom smells like either a cat litter box or mold. Well it turns out I have mold. I had a mold test done which came back possitive. The mold is on all of my windows. I've continuesly emailed and called managment to notify them this but all maintenance has done so far is paint over the issue. I've explained to them that the mold is in the walls but they REFUSE to fix the situation. other issue include bugs, which i've request them to spary but this has yet to happen. The ventalation in the bathroom wasn't working and it took 3 months to get fixed, in that time my bathroom got mold and the door warped to were you couldn't shut the door. Prior to the ventalation being fixed managements idea to fix the moisture issue in the bathroom was for me to take a shower with my bathroom door open! Not to mention that maintenance does not speak any english and they don't know what they are doing. Their solution for everything is to just paint over an issue! DON'T MOVE HERE! Even with my continued mold issue they refuse to let me out of my 1 year lease. They don't care about our health! I wouldn't be suprised if the entire building has mold! I've talked to other neighbors and they say they have mold but that management doesn't do anything!

Why did you move in if they hadn't FIXED the things you requested fixed at walk through?

This is in response to "Anonymous": We moved in to our unit because we had NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. We had a truck full of furniture, and a moving crew. We were moving all the way from San Diego so its not like we could stay in our old place one extra day!
As for pu1269:
I don't know why someone would chastise me for my choices. But as for an update, an attortney has been hired and FPI will learn thier lesson about miss treating tenants.

Why would "anonymous" chastise you for moving into your apartment at that point. That's straight -------- and not classy. This place is an absolute disaster. I've had similar problems with my apartment here as well.

yes aetarnow, you should make FPI learn their lesson-please. They should be held responsible for their negligence in their jobs and how they treated you and the tenants.
