You just have to know where to live at this complex

My husband and I have lived here for over ten years and have been through 5 management staffs. So, I feel I am a pretty goo authority on this place.

Good points:
Very quiet (if you know where to live)
Forest type environment
two pools and a Jacuzzi. Small fitness gym.
Laundry facilities on premises

Bad points:
Building was constructed in the 50's so......
- Bad pipes (again 55 years old) The underground pipes have been infiltrated by all of the trees. The ones in the wall are corroded and need to be replaced.
- Noisy on the northern side of the complex.

Look the BIGGEST problem with this place are the owners. They are cheap-o's! They always want to take the fastest and cheapest way out of things. They do not seem to care about the longevity of their tenants. The higher the turn around the more rent they can ask for as the market always seems to go up. Most of the apartments were converted from larger apartments to smaller ones, especially two bedrooms to one bedrooms and studios. So that is why most of the walls are paper thin. They were never made to a be noise barrier from another tenant as opposed to your roommate or kid. That is also the reason there aren't enough parking spaces as there are apartments. Sometimes the management staff has been rude but for the most part they are decent. I have only ever had a problem with the service manager, who doesn't think it is his job to deal with tenant issues. But remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Most of the time when I need something done, they have to ask the owner and get back to me. If you do not like noise, do not get an apartment near the North (heated) pool! Get and apartment near the South pool, which is entirely TOO cold for anyone to swim unless it is 100 degrees. With the new sound wall on the 405 I can no longer hear ANY traffic, and before it was a very minimal sound if the wind was coming from the East. The price is a bit steep, but HELLO is has more amenities than practically an other complex in the area. And you do not even feel you are in LA when you are here. It is cool and shady and you can actually hear birds chirp and see the squirrels play in the trees. And what can be said about other rude tenants'' People are inconsiderate anywhere you go, this place is no different! But you cannot blame the management for that!!!!
