Recently the management shifted over, and the new management has decided to renovate the apartments. I understand that renovation is going to be a difficult time for everyone, but this management has made it far more troublesome than it needs to be. The landlady never gives notice of new projects until a few hours before they start-- if you're lucky. Since renovations have started, "secure complex" has become a total joke. The front doors are propped open, the gate to upper parking is permanently up. The elevator is often locked, the water shut off, and the laundry room closed with no notice. No one is ever around to complain to, and managment does not appear to be considering tenants' requests for advance notice of inconveniences scribbled on the elevator signs-- seemingly our only way to communicate with the landlady.
In addition, once leases here are up, new or continuing tenants are expected to pay all utilities-- garbage and water included. Who ever heard of such a thing with a rental'
I was going to be moving out anyway, but if I hadn't been planning to leave LA, I would surely have left at the end of my lease.
