Mails get stolen - Rent goes up
From: InWestwoodDate posted: 12/13/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
First of all I want this statement to be recorded for the benefit of history that my rent in this apartment went up effectively 10% in the month of Sept 2008. It was a 3% mandatory (right!) yearly increase plus an additional $100 a month because I did not renew my lease. At a time, when the whole economy is going down the drain, the country is witnessing a once in a century event - not merely a once in a generation event, the rent goes UP! I don't care if this was what I signed for when I signed my lease more than a year ago but EVEN IF I did that, the rent should NOT have gone up. Things have CHANGED and if somebody doesn't know this then somebody is hallucinating. Oh yeah, as of the date of this review I am still living here and I had made them aware that I was going to publicize this rent increase.
Second - mails get stolen repeatedly. I don't know why the outgoing mail system continues to be so primitive. You have to drop the outgoing mail on a table, mail lying wide open, accessible to all, until the mail person picks them up. Few months ago, somebody printed a note and displayed at several places that his mails were getting opened and that he had filed a police complaint. I don't send any outgoing mail from here, I only send out NetFlix DVDs and I have had the luxury of having several of them completely stolen. Gone.
That much wouldn't be enough for me to write this review. Two weeks ago, an overnight UPS package full of gift cards worth $300 was stolen. UPS delivered it. I didn't receive it. I was supposed to receive two such packages. I received one. Whereabouts of the other one - unknown. I had to cancel those cards, reorder them, ask the company to indicate "signature required" this time, get my missing name back on the call box (I've been a a year and I am still here) to finally receive that second package.
Marina, the manager, is a very nice lady. She listens and acts. Unfortunately she doesn't own the apartment complex. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
