The rent is reasonably high. In a great location. 1 street south of Wilshire. Has a pool, cleaned in summer. Lazy, cheap, grumpy, poor maintenance by manager. Pipes in bad shape. Owned by a slum lord. Garbage overflows every Sunday/Monday. Smells fairly bad in some places. Poor ventillation in some areas because faulty wiring (which they won't replace) discourages using the ceiling fans. Every apt has AC. No fridge comes with apt. Poor security - extremely poor. Some people's mailboxes seem to be vandalized occasionally. Allows pets. 1/2 month deposit. Rent controlled. Elevator occasionally does not work. 3 floors. Thin walls. 1-bedrooms and studios. No gas, all electric. Neighbors can be friendly. Racially well integrated tenants. All ages, some families, singles from college to senior citizens. Manager collects and repairs old chevys, etc. Neighboring buildings also seedy, but most of this area is ritzy and expensive.
