The negatives:

Rude and unprofessional management (their favorite word is "no").

Staff who can't speak English and ones who cannot keep their hands off one another.

Noisy students for tenants (some hold parties at 2 am).

Hush! Don?t tell anybody but there was an armed robbery in the lower parking garage a while back, but the rental office denied it happened. And remember when thieves stole tags from licence plates as well. There are no security cameras in the parking areas where they are needed.

Does anybody remember when one of the tenants kept pulling the fire alarm several times a while back' The Fire Dept. were not pleased. The rental office covered it up as usual, and they even asked people discreetly who was behind it for a $200 reward.

Too expensive for what you get ($1300 for a one bedroom apartment!).

Smelly corridors, aging pipes and very thin walls/floors (you get to hear all the arguments, playing of music, sex etc.).

Overland Ave. itself is noisy, sidewalks are in poor shape and dirty, and cars are frequently broken into (car alarms are heard regularly).

Near two freeway ramps so loads of noise from heavy traffic, overhead planes landing at SM airport and fire engine/cop sirens/police helicopters.

Mailboxes are too small (alebit some have been replaced).

Supermarket carts litter the place.

The gym equipment breaks down and is rarely maintained but there is plenty of money for the endless painting and refurbishment that goes on there.

The furniture is cheap, so go furnished if you can.

Prostitutes live here and visit here, some openly and obviously. (check out the apartment with the red light by the main swimming pool, on the third floor).

Large sums of money are wasted on potted plants, fancy decorations, furniture for the recreation room and gym.

Illegal rent increases and deposit ripoffs. (One tenant received a $200 rent increase even though there is rent control, and deposits are deducted for wear & tear even though that is not allowed).

Graffiti due to immature tenants (in the elevators especially).

Blue elevator breaks down constantly.

The endless procession of cars parked outside complex at night blocking view of traffic.

The main exit/gate is a nightmare due to heavy traffic.

Positives:

The maintenance people are friendly and efficient.

Nice swimming pools, jacuzzis, laundries and barbecue areas.

It looks good from the outside.

This kind of practice has been happening all over the world. People will lie to you, cover up and just about do anything. I have experienced it myself. Sorry but this is how it is.

Its all about money. They do on to you and it will be done to them by someone else. That's how it is. Its a cycle. One person harming another for the love of the property and money. When Property became a value. The human race changed over night. Many millions of humans have been exterminated from there lands and in the modern world we are forced to pay a high rent and take it like it is. Most of us can't afford to hire a lawy0er to represent us so we let them run over us. Or some think that one doesn't have the time to fight back.
