Pretty decent living experience...

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I lived in Woodcliff for a little over a year and don't have too much to complain about. I felt safe, the facilities were fine, and overall it was a decent place to come home to. I'm honestly a bit surprised by all of the negative reviews, although there are definitely parts that I would agree with.
Apartment - What made this apartment stand out from others in the area was that there was clean carpeting. I know, that sounds ridiculous, but after looking at so many apartments with nasty carpets, it was a relief. The apartment was clean when I moved in, although I agree with previous comments that there can be a lot of gloppy paint and that some things show well but once you live there you realize that it's not all in the best condition. For example, the sliding shower door needed some work. For what it was, though, the apartment was fine.
Corridors - The corridors can be a little dank. I never felt unsafe in them or anything, but when you exit the elevator there's a trash chute that smells putrid a lot of the time. The interiors can feel a bit cavernous too, what with all the fake (plastic) wood and all.
Parking - My biggest complaint. The spots are way too small. I was using a compact car and the side still got banged up. If you walk through the parking lot, you will find that most people have some bangs/dents/scratches above the rear wheel. Also, the guest parking is always full because half of the spots are for the leasing office during business hours and it seems like the other half get used by people living in the building. I just decided that the parking wasn't worth my while and parked in the residential neighborhood a few blocks away.
Grounds/Facilities - The grounds are well kept. The barbecue area is nice (though you supposedly can't have more than a couple of guests with you) and the pools are in good shape. The laundry room that I used was perfectly fine. The gym was convenient too. Obviously none of this is fancy or anything, but the facilities were pretty convenient.
Management/Maintenance - I didn't have any real maintenance issues during my time at Woodcliff, though on more than one occasion they entered to do something like check the smoke detector. I guess I don't mind staff entering when I'm out (I also had nothing worth stealing), so this wasn't a big deal. When it came time to move out I had a pre-move-out inspection... I was afraid of getting stiffed my security deposit (which was 2 months rent because I'm not American and therefore didn't have an established credit history). All that was taken out was $85 for carpet cleaning, which isn't too bad especially seeing most apartments being recarpeted around me when people moved out.
Neighborhood - The neighborhood is safe for the most part but there isn't really anything going on. The Trader Joe's is in walking distance, as is a good sushi restaurant and a dry cleaners, and a small produce shop opened up a couple of doors away from Woodcliff. But there aren't sidewalks except on Overland. The only real conveniences are that it's really close to the 10 freeway (albeit that also causes a lot of traffic on Overland) and that there are a bunch of Big Blue Bus/Culver City Bus stops nearby (the Super 12 and Culver City 3 on the corner, and the 3/8/12 by the Trader Joe's).
Yeah, there's nothing really memorable about Woodcliff, but it wasn't some hellhole like others described. The quality of the place is pretty similar to most of the apartments you'll find in West LA, except that it's a gargantuan complex.
