Whenever I'm on the grounds here (including in my apartment), I can't help but feel like I'm about to get in trouble for something. I'm a good resident; my family is quiet, pays rent on time and doesn't require a whole lot to live here. But I'm always waiting to be approached or to hear a knock on my door to be told that I'm doing something wrong.
Another thing I've noticed is that the grounds that are most visible from outside the complex are very well maintained. But the parts of the complex that won't be toured by future residents and that aren't as readily visible aren't taken care of nearly as well. That tells me that they don't truly care about this place, they just want to attract new tenants. I suppose that's normal for any complex, but with as ---- as they are about the grounds here, you'd think the whole place would look pristine.
The insides of the units are a totally different story. I think they make the initial walk-through very quick so you don't look too closely at the poor quality of EVERYTHING. We had massive ant infestations in several rooms that I took care of by myself, one of our bathtubs is unusable because it leaks from the bottom (after only 11 months here), if you even say the word "water" mildew (and probably mold too) start to form on the walls, the windows are really old and made of thin glass...the list goes on.
From what I've read on this site, I'm thinking I will have trouble getting my deposit back. If that's the case, I will be irate. I paid $1900 to move in here.
At least I'm on my way out. I'm quite excited about that.
