I live at Laurel Glen Apartments in Manteca CA for 2 years now. Upon moving in, I was already well versed in renting apartments. I have rented in several locations in CA, as well as Manhattan and Long Island NY, and even a short time in London England. Over all I have a very decent amount of renters experience.
I happen to be an ideal renter. I am quite, I do not smoke, I recycle and I produce very little garbage, I work at home, I am very clean and orderly, and above all else I follow the given rental communities rules and regulations. I have never in my 21 years of renting had anything taken from my original deposite upon moving out. That being said, I would like to think that I give the community I live in 100%. I certainly make errors from time to time. However, that is to be expected.
In regards to Laurel Glen, I feel I am qualified as a good renter to give a realistic review of the apartment community, and I would very much like to do so.
Laurel Glen is a very safe, comfotable and relaxed place to live and raise a family. I am very happy here, as is my fiance. I see a bit of negative comments posted here for varried reasons. I must confess these are used rentals. You will not be renting a brand new apartment here. However, they are clean and safe. Something I think renters do not understand is that: the apartment is nice for you when you move in (or I am sure you would not move in), but a certain amount of maintence is your responsibility. Mold, water build up, stains, holes, missing pieces, broken items, and unworking items which occur during the time you live there are your responsibility. I clean and take excellent care of places I rent because the bottom line is this property does NOT belong to me. It is my responsibility to return it when I move, to the state it was in - if not better! Cleaning regularly will prevent dirt, mold, water build up, rust, and stains. As for holes, missing pieces, broken items, and unworking items - if you take care with your day to day routines these items can last forever. I realise things like plumbing, electric and heating/air require ruotine service. Most apartment communities will fix these at no cost to you, if you have not created the problem. Laurel Glen is fair and compromising on all these issues. I havent had any need to contact them personally, as I take excellent care, but I know their policies and proceedures. I feel they are a fair and resonable rental community.
The price of rentals is fair as well. The grounds are kept fairly clean. Most concerns are addressed within minutes, if not same day.
I find the team at Laurel Glen management to be very polite, and very agreeable. They do take doing their job very seriously. You will not get away with breaking rules. However, they are not unreasonable people and can work with you on solutions for problems within reason. They have rules to follow as well. This is their job, and they do take it seriously. I commend them on finding that perfect grey area of excellent customer service, while still maintaining the seriousness of their job.
In closing I want to recommend living at Laurel Glen to one and all. It is by far my favourite place I have rented in California to date!
