The Archstone Corporation is duplicitous in their dealings with the tenants and community of MDR. First, they have VERY poorly managed the building. The elevators do not work most of the time -- the one in my building hasn't been inspected for 2 years according to the permit -- the parking structures are strewn with trash, oil slicks, nails and screws from the construction team, the "fitness club" is a joke with broken equipment, the washers and dryers are most often in disrepair. The management trys to pass off maintenance charges to the tenants, that should be covered, legally, in the lease. They have told all of the curent tenants that rents wil be raised between 70-100% once their "renovation" is complete. This has been a complete nightmare for eveyone living in this complex, and we have filed a Class Action suit against the corporation, with attorney Richard Meyer. For more info go to www.savemdr.com

Are you serious? They bought the building as is...----. And they have every right to raise the rents, its not illegal. They are new owners, obviously you have never lived somewhere that was purchased by another company. Archstone purchased this place to make it a better living environment. You won't win a lawsuit. There are plenty of times where a company buys a building and tells everyone to get out. They don't have to keep you there. Sorry for your luck, but grow up and face the facts. They are improving a building that they bought. Archstone will most likely replace all of the broken equipment and appliances. I live at an archstone. If something can't be fixed, I get a brand new one.

alright jackass, i may of changed my name now but i do live at this place. who the ---- are you! got a nice two bedroom in the garden area, which by the way is beautiful now!!
