When we received our lease renewal notice, there was an increase of $400 in rent!! We were told that due to the construction going on that our apartment was leased to us at undermarket value. When we signed our lease we were told to expect a 3-5% increase when our lease was up...so you can imagine what a shock $400 increase was. There was never any mention of a substantial increase when the lease was up. Parking sucks. Most people have to walk far to get to their apartment from their car. Our apartment was beautiful...everything was brand new. We did not have any problems or complaints about that. We also did not have any problems with noise, but we did have a corner unit and the garage was below us. Anytime we needed maintenance, they were fast and extremely nice. The people in the office always seemed nice and helpful (except when it came to the rent increase)..especially Marni and Channel. Had some problems with Sandy...she is definitely not a people person. We had an issue with her about our parking spaces...one of the other girls in the office assigned us our parking spaces (I think this is usually Sandy's job) and wrote it in the book. Then Sandy went and gave the spaces to someone else with out looking in the book. So since she had to re-assign the other people's parking spaces, we had to deal with her attitude and dirty looks whenever we ran into her. They did let us out of our lease a month early...I guess as some sort of "consolation" for increasing our rent so much. To me it was very unfair that they did not make it clear at the lease signing that a substantial increase would happen when construction was complete.
