Archstone should be ashamed! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 2/14/2008 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008   to call this complex "secure" is a joke, none of the locks on any of the doors to the building work correctly, even when complained about, they have still not been fixed, and most of the time are left ajar because the doors simply do not shut to the outside world (a busy street like via marina)! the garage is supposedly "secure" as well, yet people are able to reach their arms around the gate to open the door to the garage and walk right in, once in the garage, you have access to an unlocked/unsecure door, leading to an elevator to any floor or apartment you choose. this is absolutely ridiculous, especially for $2000 per month for a 1BR. parking is awful for guests too. besides having to call your guests in to an outside parking service every time they come, plus paying a mandatory $45 fee for something associated with "secure" parking (does a security guard ever come at night''), and 80% of the spots in the main guest lot are for "future residents" and off limits to guests during the day. to make it worse, the spots in the far guest lot are often filled with cars that never move, and cars that literally have "boots" on the wheels for months upon months. if they removed these cars by towing them, then there would be more spots for guests. duhh! also, charging $100 per month for an extra parking space, when you literally have no other choice if you have more than 1 car, is outrageous. then again, archstone has no shame. and those $10/hour sign spinners on weekends, waving people to your rental office, that really makes your apartment complex look high-class! after raising rent $200 last year, you can be sure this is the last year i will be living in ANY Archstone property. the 1 day service guarantee is a joke, i have been waiting more than a year for some things to be fixed, i simply don't care anymore. and whoever designed these apartments didn't do a good job. try this on for size...how does your neighbor's kitchen sink and garbage disposal being built right behind the headboard of your bed sound' through paper thin walls, let me tell you it sounds awesome at 7am on a saturday. oh, the view of the marina is nice....beyond the traffic you hear THROUGH the closed windows at night.
