I lived in Archstone for a year & a half (finally moved, thank god).

I strongly advice you to look down the street at the other places on the Marina. Nicer, cheaper, less dog waste all over everything, less BS from the staff. I don't like being screwed over by a place I was loyal to...

1. Stolen bike (mine, and two of my visiting friends) from the secured garage where it was DOUBLE locked. (they didn't care)

2. 10 floors of waste dumped into my kitchen sink - flooding my apt. 4 days of mold & maintenance workers. No apologies, no check-ins, nothing. They took 1/4 off our rent for that month after my aggressive roomie yelled at them. That wasn't enough for my doctors bills due to my mold allergies.

3. Dog waste EVERYWHERE (don't believe me' wait until it gets warm and the urine starts to waft into your apartment)

4. You can hear EVERYTHING through the walls.

5. Night staff is never there - and they do not return night staff emergency phone calls. And they do not check in with you the day after not returning any phone calls.

6. Even if you tell them through phone calls & emails that you are MOVING OUT AT THE END OF THE LEASE, which, of course, should be expected. They still charge you if you don't fill out the end of lease lease agreement. Which, is --------. IF I tell you I'm moving out - If i call you and email you CONSTANTLY over 3 months telling you over and over again that I'm moving out. You should not charge me extra (think: another month's worth of rent). For 3 months I emailed/called about my move at the END of my lease. There is NOTHING in the lease that says I have to fill out some form. RIDICULOUS.

7. They will over charge you for EVERYTHING

8. Oh yeah - remember how they say parking is included' Yeah... well, you still have to pay 60 - 100$ for a garage sticker otherwise you'll get towed.

9. The rent is not a flat fee. They charge you for water/grounds maintenance, etc. Roughly 50$ a month extra.

10. If you stand over 5'8... good luck with the showers. The shower head will reach to the nap of your neck, or lower. It's like yoga trying to get clean.

11. Make sure you don't leave the windows open too long - the pollen from the trees is CRAZY, and your white shutters will be brown/red within a week.

So, good luck if you decide to waste your time and effort trying to build a home in this place. It will bite you in the end.
