Del Rey Shores
AVERAGE RATING
< | >
I have lived in Del Rey Shores for approx. 3 years, and enjoy it for the most part. However, the service is terrible (actually non-existent), and the office staff couldn't be more rude. The fact that their average age is around 80 shouldn't affect how they treat their own tenants. People pay alot of $ to live there, and you would expect to treated in the same manner. If something is needed in your unit, don't bother asking to have it fixed, because it won't happen. The office staff have been living there for over thirty years, and prefer not to be bothered. However, the maintenance people are extremely kind, and do a great job w/ the landscaping and grounds.
As far as the interior, the main problem with this complex is the plumbing. They still haven't changed to copper pipes (they are all the old galvanized pipes from the 60's), so the water has an orange color to it-all the time. At times, its even dark brown. Because of this, we don't even use the 2nd shower, unless we really need to. We told the main office about this problem, and they completely ignored us, as if it wasn't a problem- no phone call, nothing.
So, if you do decide to look into living here, stop by and visit the office staff - you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about. If you go into the unit, turn on the water and see for yourself.
