Don't Move Here!!!

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
I lived in Marina Harbor for 2 - 3 years. I worked long hours and went out a lot so it wasn't until I decided to work from home that I began to notice what a complete mess this place is.
First off, the place has zero security and a piss poor attitude about it. I had a mail package ripped off right in front of my door. I lived on the third floor and someone was able to get into the building and walked off with my package WHILE I WAS HOME!! It couldn't have been out there more than an hour. They claim the place is secure yet somehow, amazingly, every night of the week there's a flyer for a restaurant or other local business on your door. How the hell are they getting into these "secure" buildings' Of course, you see these guys walking around with a huge satchel of flyers and they walk right by staff who do absolutely nothing to prevent these people from entering the buildings. If a door is left ajar or some solicitor happens to follow behind a staff guy as he enters the building they say nothing.
The person who spoke on behalf of the management in a previous review is a liar. For the entire two years I lived there there was constant renovation going on. First they re-did the pools, then they re-finished the tennis courts, and then . . . you get the picture. Sounds nice, right' Sure, if you don't mind heavy power tools at 8am. Remember, these places don't have A/C so you have to sleep with your windows open and at 8am some jackhole is out there sandblasting the pool or some massive stripper machine is tearing up the paint on the tennis courts. Funny enough, they quit at noon. Yea, they get there just early enough to wake you and then they're gone just four hours later. Why they couldn't start at say 9 or 10 is still a mystery as management never had an answer when asked.
Oh, and if you're thinking about moving there now . . . hahahahahahahaha. Just before I moved they tore down an entire building and they're putting up a new one. That's been going on in various stages for about a year and a half. There's a massive 30 foot hole the size of an entire apartment structure there. I live in the same neighborhood so I know they haven't lost their preference of morning hours work as I drive by there at 7am - 8am every morning and see all sorts of cranes and bulldozers and other heavy equipment putting up the new building.
Yea, a wonderful place to live if you're deaf.
Oh, speaking of noise. I had a neighbor who thought normal voice level should be about as loud as a car horn. He would stand on his balcony all day and night talking on the phone . . . actually shouting on the phone. I'm not being overly sensitive here. When the guy is on the other side of the complex (across the courtyard from you) and you can hear him over your television with all your windows closed . . . he's loud. He also seemed to get into a lot of fights while on the phone so you heard endless ranting and profanity as he would physically threaten people and call them b*tch, c*cksuckers, etc. Complaints to management yielded nothing and the police had to be called on several occassions.
The staff is so-so. There's a few really cool and helpful people but the vast majority are jerks. Watch out for the speeding staff in their golf carts as they do 35mph through the parking garages. I don't even know how many times I almost slammed into one of those jackholes as he came flying around a corner.
