Please Reconsider - This Place is BAD

I have been living at Marina Harbor for two years. When I first moved in, mangement was polite, friendly & helpful... about 6 months later there was a slow change in management and they are absolute JERKS. They treat residents as if we are lucky we are living here & if we don't like something then we should simply leave!
All of the land in Marina del Rey is owned by the city, so in order for Marina Harbor to renew its lease, they were required to make a bunch of rennovations... we have been in the midst of these rennovations for months now and it's HORRIBLE (not to mention the new tacky look of the exterior). My front door has been left open or unlocked 2 times by workers... we constantly are required to empty our walk in closets for days at a time, move couches and entertainment centers by ourselves and vacate our parking spaces for weeks at a time (from the hours of 8 to 5)... to accomodate workers.
Two weeks before the warm weather started they decided to gut the entire courtyard area and pool - just in time for summer! Our balconies are covered with an inch of dust & desbris and they WILL NOT clean it for us.
Now, after all of us loyal residents have put up with this loud, dirty, obnoxious construction for so long, management will only allow us to sign a 6 month lease! Residents who have lived here 10 years are not even allowed to renew for more than 6 months, which can mean only ONE thing... RENT INCREASE! I personally won't pay another DIME to live in this place.
Yes, they are sprucing up the look of the outside of the units including new windows & sliding glass doors, but they are doing NOTHING to the ancient looking interiors. The kitchen cabinets are horrible, the bottoms are drooping & the paint is about 15 layers thick. The caulking in the bathroms is cracking and molding (it looks great when you move in, until you realize they have only PAINTED over old cracks & mold), carpet is old and they have those asbestos filled popcorn ceilings. The hallways in the common areas constantly smell of mold or cigarette smoke & the hall carpets have nasty spots all over.
This is all really sad because the location is awesome and the people who live here are nice & respectful. We all feel it is a shame how bad we are being treated by management, and a LOT of people are moving out.
I would think twice before you decide to move here!!
