This place has a great location but the management SUCKS!! They are completely unresponsive to your needs, requests, or complaints. In fact, they employ two full-time "receptionists" whose only job it is is to keep residents from speaking with the managers who might actually be able to handle issues. They will lie to you and tell you that the managers are not in when they are in fact in their offices. As an example, a few weeks ago I asked to speak with the assistant manager, Donna. I was told that she was not in, that she was "out on the property." From prior experience I knew this was the most common lie. So I waited in an adjoining sitting area without telling anyone. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, Donna emerges from her office to talk with the receptionist. This happens constantly.

They are also in the middle of construction and routinely violate the privacy of the tenants. On one occassion they told me they needed me to "clean out my closet" so they could work on rewiring. I did so. When I returned from work that evening the entire master bedroom was in shambles. All the furnature had been moved to the middle of the room, lamps, photos, and other items were thrown on the floor, half of one wall had been torn out, and the place was uninhabitable. I complained. Nothing happened.

If you are willing to put up with this kind of treatment, by all means enjoy yourself.

I love this community, we have been here for almost 3 1/2 years now. I think that all of the negative comments posted are from mostly people who have lived here for 100 years and are afraid of change and increased rents. This area is one of the nicest in Los Angeles, and even the Westside. Where else can you got to almost any wonderful restaruant and wear flipflops, and jeans, but eat great food in a cool atmosphere? I will pay full price for this area and I do think Marina Harbor is worth it too. I agree that it has been a mess around here during the construction....but we have not had an increase in our rent for over 3 years and our friends who live down the street have had over $400 in rent raises over the same 3 years. I feel that is reasonable for living through this construction! And again, we are happy that it will be ending soon, but we expect to stay on for years to come. We love it here!

It's interesting that the same "response" dated 02/28/2008 is posted to several other negative comments as well. Word for word. Couldn't be the management company trying to deflect complaints, could it?
