My wife and I moved here at the end of April of 2008. Yes, we're lucky that we didn't have to live through all that horrible construction. We love it here! Carla is NOT a rude person at all. On the contrary, she has been very helpful and understanding at all times. You need to understand that these individuals get to hear complaints all day long and deal with screaming people even though it's not their fault at all. I think they're doing a superb job. Thank you! We have only had quick responses to requests and we would recommend this place to anyone. We don't know how it looked like pre-construction but the whole entire complex is absolutely amazing post-construction. They really did a great job! We love living here and we hope that we can stay here for a long time. Treat the people at the office with respect, and they will do the same. It's as simple as that. Besides, they do deserve plenty of respect for all their hard work. Thank you!!

Puh-lease. I worked in customer service for over a decade and delt with angry people screaming at me all day long. I know that you must treat others with respect in order to receive respect...but it doesn't work here. Your opinions would be different had you been here during the construction, which lasted well over a year (when we were told, when we signed the lease, that it would be finished within a couple months). The maintenance crew and office personnel did not give a crap about how much noise there was, that construction workers blocked in tenants' cars that had tandem spaces, and that they released a flea nest into our apartment by tearing out the walls in the apartment next to us and trekking the fleas inside. Sorry, but our cat had never had a flea on him in his life because he is indoors and is on Advantage every month, and when we came home from a vacation, we were attacked by dozens of these disgusting little bugs. Their response? Nada...which to me, is an admission of guilt and a refusal to take responsibility. They also blocked off all ventilation in our apartment in the summer of 2007, when we were experiencing record temperatures (well over 90-100 degrees). Not only were we suffocating, our cat nearly died of heat exhaustion and had to be rushed to the veterinarian, even though we had every fan in the apartment running. And no one gave a ****. We've had water pouring out of our kitchen and bathroom light fixtures several times due to faulty pipes in the apartments above us and only once did the maintenance crew respond quickly and apologize for the experience (kudos to the maintenance manager at the time). I could give you many more examples, but it would become redundant. You've only been here for 7 months. You'll get your chance and then you'll be eating your words. I've never met Carla (I've had enough bad experiences to know that talking to staff in a civil manner will lead to nothing but BS excuses and condescending attitudes). But there are several women in that office who seriously need to get laid or go out and have a drink. And I admit, the grounds are absolutely beautiful. I'm glad that they look as nice as they do but I find it demoralizing that new tenants (such as you and your wife) are able to reap the benefits while ridiculing those who had to go through the "nightmare" (as we call it). I'm sorry, but you and your wife's reviews do not trump the dozens of other reviews on here contradicting your opinion(s) about your "beloved" apartment complex and I really hope that people who actually read these reviews are intelligent enough to realize that and that they should LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE! So, before you get on your high horse and start preaching to us about how we should "stop complaining and start collaborating", you should really learn about the horror stories that some tenants have gone through before making such a judgmental analogy. If that is impossible for you, you can take your opinion and shove it up your...

I agree completely with the response, not the review. You have no idea what these people are like. They will LIE to your face. They will tell you management is out when they are hiding in their office. They treat 15-year tenants like DIRT. If you complain, they threaten you by saying "well, you are in violation of your lease because of such and such." Water pours into your apartment from a leak somewhere else and they say "we'll get to it, sorry." Raw sewage on your floor and they say "we'll dry out the carpet." Maintenance is usually very good but the management staff SUCKS. They actually have a little fascist who walks around making notes on his pad about who has "inappropriate" furniture or plants on their balconies!! Really, I have never been treated so poorly. Every time. Trust me, this place is the worst.

Agree with both responses. I have never been treated as poorly as by this management, and I'm not usually a complainer.

By the way, this review and the one after are from the same couple, so it's not really two great experiences.

Carla is terrible. And the fact that the owners and managers still keep her in her customer service position just shows how little they care about us. Carla is the typical unhappy person that finds value in herself by power tripping. I'm sure she puts on a friendly face to her bosses, but it's pretty plain to see she thinks she's better than anyone else and believes she's running the place. There's no place for someone in this position. When I move she'll be one of the primary reasons.

My question is to the flea infested person with the cat suffering from heat stroke. Why, in the name of God, do you continue to live in this Hellhole that is Marina Harbor? With all the trauma you have suffered, and I see that they have a maximum of a 14 month lease and the summer of 2007 when your cat almost died and you were forced to endure skin grafts to replace what the fleas took from you, you obviously renewed your lease if you're still there. Did Satan make you live here as part of your duties to him? Please respond.

Carla, and the rest of the office staff are a true example of what children willend up like without an education! I lived at the pit for nearly 5 yrs, and went through the construction BS, only to be evicted AFTER the construction, because I got married and did not register my wife with the leasing office! In addition, I fought them with a lawsuit and the law firm that they use(d, Daniel Yampolwski, not only showed up late to the court date, but had the wrong client file with him - understandably, the Judge threw his case out of court! This place is awful....there are so many other options in the marina area to live that are respectful and will offer, and provide, the immenities that youa are looking for. DO NOT MOVE TO MARINA HARBOR!!!
