I really have no idea why there are so many negative reviews about this place. It's like living on Tom Sawyer's Island at Disneyland! I have a jungle outside my window, with a lazy river flowing past my deck! I can go up to the Lodge (that's what I call it, because it's like a huge Fisherman's/Hunting lodge), and read in the library by the huge fireplace, or use the awesome fitness center, or play pool, or use the BIG SCREEN THEATRE to watch DVD's!!! They have a cafe, a dry cleaners, a hair salon. You hardly have to leave to do anything! I've lived here a year, and have had absolutely zero problems with my apartment or my neighbors. Everyone is nice and goes about their own business. Sometimes it's just nice to take a walk through the grounds because it's just so darn beautiful.

I thought the price was a little high when they told me what it was (I'm paying $1570/mo for 1-bedroom, on the first floor). But really, you're not going to find a decent apartment anywhere within 20 miles for less than $1200, and for the extra $370 a month, I think everything this place offers is worth the money.

I've had no problem with parking, except for finding visitor parking after 6pm. From 9AM until 6PM, however, all the people who don't want to pay the extra $30/mo. for a second space leave for work and there are tons of visitor parking spaces. There are some constantly empty spaces in the garages, and when my fiancee moves in after we're married, I'm going to have to look into getting one. But my car has been safe, and I love having the covered, environmentally-controlled parking.

Also, every time I've dealt with anyone in the office, they've always been very kind and helpful. I don't know where the negative reviewers are coming from, but Mariner's Village is great.
