The apartment is more expensive than those of the same type. 1 bedroom ranged from $1800 to over $2000 compare with those on the beach: there is one nice apartment I know on the nice harbor area with large units only $1690 to $2000 depends on ocean view or not. Tierra Del Rey is far from the beach and the only convenience is the the shopping area. So if you like that shopping area and willing to pay a rent that is above the beach area, you can stay there.

Also understand that building materials are cheap. Walls cracking and carpet wears out quickly; a lot of disgusting cockroaches as well. Just like what others say, maintenance might be a problem. They wouldn t care how annoying it is if it is after hours. The management is more shady while cleaning, security and maintenance staffs are much nicer.

There is a very greedy staff there with green eyes who might cut your deposit when you move out. I suggest you look elsewhere if this staff is still there handling your money. The first time I met this staff, I just see the green eyes from it. She needs to change my move-in date, and the paper work won t be ready immediately so I said I will give the check next day when she was ready. Then she immediately change the attitude and go ahead changed the paperwork right away. Though I still don t need to pay my check that day, she convinced me to do it right away. When she was talking to me, she was not looking at me but the check on my hand. Then afterwards every time I met her, it is quite an uncomfortable experience with her people skills, since all she cares about is money.
