Slow repairs, noisy neighbors and some filthy common areas

Since moving here in November, I've been disappointed with the maintenance and service of the building. It's strange because staff are good about cleaning one area - the pool/courtyard - but otherwise terrible about any other cleaning or repair. As an example, when we first moved here there were several undisclosed/hidden problems with the apartment (ceiling leak, broken shower head, no water pressure, leaking kitchen sink) which took multiple complaints, two formal letters threatening rent deduction, and several in-person confrontations to repair. Additionally, we've noticed the common hallways have NEVER been cleaned since we moved in. Even after the hallways are wet and muddy from rain, the staff have not cleaned the hallways. Several tenants have complained, but we keep getting the run around that they are still negotiating with a third-party vendor (which has now taken at least two months). Finally, the after-hours "security guard" does nothing in response to complaints, even if someone is violating a community rule, i.e. creating a public nuisance by blasting their music at 2 am on a week night or parking their cars in your parking space. Don't live here unless you are a college student who can handle poor customer service and low living standards.

I'm considering moving to the apartments and am concerned about the reports of noise, dirt, and construction dust. Have these issues been resolved? And, are the apartments facing the pool quieter and less likely to get construction dust? Thanks.

Our apartment faces the pool and we have no issues with construction dust. However, the courtyard/pool area can be noisy because if there is a party or a group outside at night, or if people are playing their music with their windows open, then the noise echoes in the courtyard. With the new community director (Cindy Abrams), the staff have gotten better about at least sweeping the hallways and general cleaning. However, overall we are over this place and hope to move out by the end of the year.
