This review following was written BEFORE the current management company took over. I have since moved out of Villa Venetia and was glad to go.

The current management company tried to raise my rent $300 a month, which was my incentive for leaving. They gave me a 30-day notice of the rent increase. At the time, they were required to give a 60-day notice.

When I brought it to management's attention, they told me they "made a mistake" on the date and it should be 60 days. This is a company that owns many apartment complexes across the country. They should know better than to make this kind of "mistake."

I mentioned it to some of my neighbors and found out they had received letters with the same "mistake."

The previous management company would make sure the residents did not park in the guest parking spots. The current management doesn't monitor it at all. When I talked to them about it they said they can't watch the parking area because they're too busy. Guests were never able to find a parking space on the premises.

The complex went drastically downhill in the last year I lived there, 2004-2005.

I'ved in Villa Venetia four years and have been very happy here.



I have a one-bedroom apartment which is huge compared to many other apartments in the marina.

The maintenance staff is EXTREMELY responsive. The few times I've had to have a repair made the longest I've had to wait is two days, and nine times out of ten, they are there the very same day!

This apartment complex is on the Fisherman'lage side of the marina so it less crowded than it is across the marina. We are within walking distance of most the restaurants in the marina, a major grocery store, banks and the post office.

The drawbacks to the Villa are the landscaping, or lack thereof. There are huge "decks" separating the apartments, completely paved with no grass or trees. It can be somewhat noisy when neighbors have guests over because the sound echoes off the deck area.

Parking is not the best, but that'ical for the area. When I have friends over I have them park at Dock 52 up the street, which is free parking, and they can either walk the short distance to Villa Venetia or I will pick them up.

Beginning March 2004 we will be paying for the water bill. Our portion of the bill is going to be divided up proportionately. I don'l this is fair because I travel a lot and don'l like I should pay the same amount as my neighbor who uses the laundry room every day when I use it maybe once every 10 days. There is $25 tacked onto the rent each month which pays for our cable service.

Overall it's a great place and I would recommend it if you're thinking about moving to the Marina.
