I recently left archstone. Overall my archstone experience was sub par @ marina terrace.


Initially moving in they had a 24 hour concierge... they x'ed that early in 06. This is a big deal because the doors are "hotel doors" and they lock behind you and they also weigh a ton. I am a big guy (240 lbs and in shape) and i find them hard to control, they have a hydrolic arm that pushes back WAY to hard. It nearly broke my dogs neck one time when it tried to sneak out (not an exaggeration). Also, they are VERY difficult to break into, and therefore cost about 160 to have a locksmith let you in. The apts are clean, and decently sized. They are very expensve however. The location/neighborhood is safe and there is EVERYTHING in walking distance.

The staff:

Well for the most part, they are completly unorganized. With the exception of a staff member named Catherine, dealing with them has been a COMPLETE nightmare. In the one year that i lived there, they either lost or misplaced 3 packages of mine. Also one of their community support people is foreign and doesnt seem to understand or communicate very well. This is a big issue considering these are the people you are supposed to talk to if things arent going great. She often passes the buck and in general was pretty much of little use in the issues i had.

In closing i wouldnt reccommend living there. For the price you can find other places nearby that are MUCH better. Playa vista has a few complexes that i would reccommend over this.

playa vista, really? you'd rather deal with the methane gas problems then marina terrace? well playa vista is a wonderful choice, if you don't smoke as well as your friends and loved ones. let's not get started on the lawsuit filed by the city against the dept of building and safety for playa vista. you think your problems were bad at marina terrace, that's a total joke. hope you're enjoy over there!
