Stay away unless you want to pay morgage prices to live in a dorm

I have lived in the "Marina Terrace" complex for about 4 years. To be honest, I would have left sooner, but I love living in the marina and I hate moving. In my time here, the management company has changed about 3 or 4 times while everything has stayed the same, except for rent prices.
Some fun activities and features that Marina Terrace offers:
Off leash dogs running around the indoor hallways of the complex in which you live.
You have to watch where you are walking in INDOOR community areas so that you don't step in piles of animal excrement.
Sharing the elevator with people that have no control over their large breed, vicious Akitas and German Shepherds.
If these things sound appealing or even "no big deal", then maybe Marina Terrace is the place for you.
Loud parties during any school observed holiday.
It seems that many tenets have access to enough money to pay ridiculous rent prices but don't have to get up every morning to go to work. They are they type of crowd that only enjoy living next to each other.
People talk loudly and argue in the atrium so that the sound echoes and is magnified in your apartment.
If this is sounding better and better, then Marina Terrace is the place for you!
Complimentary removal of your car stereo and bicycle.
A management company that will do nothing to act on accounts of thievery and vandalism and makes it a point that other tenants aren't informed'
If this is sounding awesome, then by GOD you have found your home!
This is the perfect place for a lonely person that wishes for uninvited guests to enter their apartment once every couple months.
The complex features a management company that is not forthcoming about making appointments to enter your apartment so that you can stay home ALL day waiting for their "employees". Oh yeah, relaxation!
A hardworking management company that tells you that they are only having their employees enter your apartment for "inspections", but when you answer the door, there are two guys THAT DON'T KNOW ONE WORD OF ENGLISH' I don't know about other tenets, but last time I checked, I never ran into staff that couldn't speak English.
If you decided to move into this wonderful complex, you can get ALL THIS and more for the modest price of $2,250 for a one bedroom apartment. Awesome. Luckily, there is no rent control, so expect your rent to go out about $200 a year. Now that's what I call a sweet deal.
Now, with the ever increasing rent and the noisy, poop filled indoor areas, I am unfortunately forced to move. I don't really like the things that I mentioned above, but I was able to deal with them because of some good things like:
-location
-assigned parking
-washer/dryer in unit
-central air
However, these amenities and my HATRED for moving are simply not enough to justify my staying here another year. Perhaps YOU will be lucky enough to snatch up my apartment after I leave. Good luck in your apartment search!

LOL that's a pretty acurate review especially about the dogs being off the leash and the poop. I had a stupid dog chase me while I had my hands laden with groceries right outside my door and the owner didn't think it was a big deal. Ok that's not management's fault. But the poop filled hallways are accurate as well and THAT needs to be address by constant cleaning if necessary instead of having all efforts put towards maintaining the EXTERIOR to attract new tenants. What management needs to do is remove the carpets and instead use flooring or tiles that will not absorb excretement or garbage. Our hallways reeks of garbage as well as the entire elevator area. Having carpets INDOORS with no ventilation and animals is an unhealthy combination.
If I may ask, where are you moving to? If you did find a place that's better I'm very interested in knowing where!
Thanks!

Fountain Park Apartments - Same good location, but without as many hassles. The apartments are bigger, and the rent is cheaper, but they can be noisy at times.
We haven't had a problem with unleashed dogs, either. The elevators do smell sometimes - wet dog from someone giving one a bath, then taking it outside (or vice versa) and there is a puppy who I think is being potty trained on our floor...but the owners have been good about cleaning up after it. Management has been good about getting the smell out of the elevator quickly as well.
You still get the same benefits as Marina Terrace:
Location - although not quite as good, it's still close to the marina.
Assigned Parking
Washer/Dryer in some units
Central Air

Sarcasm for the win.
Haven't had the problem with the ---- all over, but just about everything else.
I tried to break my lease after two stolen motorcycles and car being ripped apart by a rookie thief, but management said that was not a reason to break it.
They are all over me about a $50 late fee for not paying rent on time because I was out of town (but you can't pay online like the previous management company). I told them to sue me. They said, "we probably will." LOL
I am stuck until March 2009... Grrr.
