Valley Ridge is ok. There are good things and bad. The apartments are pretty nice. Old but renovated, nice size, and large patio area. The shower in the bathroom is kind of nasty (wasn't redone with the rest of the bathroom), but the kitchens were redone nicely. They allow dogs, but the management isn't really dog friendly (they don't seem like they really want them here). The maintenance staff are really good and cool guys, the office staff are ok. They don't always seem to care, but are usually friendly, although maybe not sincerely so.

The common areas and grounds are kept up very well. The neighbors for the most part are all really nice and respectful of each other. The apartment is very quiet and being an older building, the walls a thicker than newer apartments. There seems to be an unusually high amount of smokers here, so you can't open your windows without your apartment smelling like a bar (there is always someone smoking in the next building, by the pool, in the common areas). Being a non-smoker, it is a bit annoying to me that I have to keep my apartment shut up, but there is central heat and air. There are laundry facilites, but no gym.

There is assigned parking, which is really nice. If you have two cars, finding a spot for your second car can be difficult. There has been some break-ins with cars, but probably not anymore than anywhere else. The surrounding community is safe and quiet.

I am undecided whether or not I will be renewing my lease when it is up. With rental homes prices in the area, you can rent a decent house with a yard for just $200 - 300 more than a one or two bedroom apartment, so I am leaning in that direction. But overall, it is not a bad place. I would rank it as "average."
