You get what you pay for....

I lived here for about a year and a half... and over all I was glad to leave.
When I first moved in, things were okay- not great but it was my first apartment. Older building meant that things would fall apart, but it was cheap.
My first suggestion, don't move here if you care about parking. While in a 2 bedroom you get a gargage and a space, people would park in my roommates place all the time. My garage got blocked in at 5:00am because someone decided to park infront of it and I couldn't get to my car. After about 15-20 mins and trying to call the tow company, I got lucky and the guy came out so I could get out and to work. My boyfriend always had to park on the hill above and walk down, which wasn't bad except that there is always broken glass ontop of the hill on the sidewalk.
I've seen a few rodents scampering outside in the early morning in the bushes and a few that had been run over on the pavement. Mice, and a couple of rats. But never in my apartment, just outside.
When I first came to look at the place, the complex gave us the run around a bit... they gave the impression that they didn't think I would qualify and were a bit stand offish... but things changed when they pulled my credit report. Originally they said it would take a few days to get approved and get back to us, they called back 3 hours later. ... then they were really nice to me. Never really had a problem because I tried to treat the management professionally, but boy did they ruffle my feathers, I just know how to control my temper.
If I asked for things to be fixed, they were and were relatively done in a timely manner. But it was always lots and lots of little things and the same things over and over again. I must of had them fix my garage door opener 6 times-- it would just die. They did have to come twice for the garbage disposal-- but the second time they installed a brand new one. We never ran the AC or the heater so I have no idea there.
They did come to clean the carpets and re-paint the second room and bathroom when we signed a new lease because I had a new roommate. That was very nice of them.
I had 26 dead bees in my apartment in one day... they weren't so fast to move on the issue because they were all dead... eventually after complaining they came up and removed them since i kept calling freaked out cause i'm allergic. Then later that night I found another alive bee and had to call the after hours number, but all I got was the run around for 4 hours because they couldn't get intouch with on-site help... (luckily for me my boyfriend caught it under a glass... about 10pm, on-site maint shows up and just tells me to light a fire in the fireplace to keep them from flying in... and they would have a bee guy come out tomorrow.
Instead I taped up the fireplace with some heavy trash bags because it was really hot that week and later the BEE MAN told me that would I have lit the fire, I'd have knocked a hive into my house and made things worse!!!!!!!!!!
My apartment walk-way would flood everytime it rained about 4 inches or more because the drains didn't work at all...it wasn't until a year later they finally unplugged the drain.
A few months before I left there was a crack in my ceiling in my bathroom. It was fixed and repaired in three days (pretty good one day to patch, day to sand, day to paint)... then a few months later my roommates bathroom's ceiling was peeling and coming apart.
After three weeks the job STILL wasn't finished... (not sanded or painted)... then my bathroom ceiling started leaking water in the master... the same place they patched up before. When I came home that day more then half the ceiling was removed and I could still see mold. (and roommates bathroom remained unchanged)
after a few conversations with the office and yelling at the supervisor of the place, mentioning having to live with mold for months since they did not resolve the problem correctly the first time, and screaming fair housing. they agreed to let me out of the lease without any fees or penaltys. While the leaving process was not fun,THEY DID KEEP THEIR WORD! I got my full security deposit back-- no cleaning deducted and my proratted rent back for the rest of the month.
I would not recommend this place at all. You get what you paid for, but know your legal rights!
