Not too shabby, but getting pricey

To make it as simple as possible here's a list of postives and negatives...
Positives:
1. Apartments look nice outside and in.
2. The community grounds/landscaping looks great!! Two thumbs up to the friendly grounds maintance crew.
3. Parking, it's been great. (however I do live in the lower portion of the complex were there is plenty of parking to spare)I have seen and heard all the complaints about parking if you live in the upper portion of the complex. And I agree it sucks.
4. Pets, I think it's a great policy/idea to have pets limited to certain areas (lower portion of complex only)
5. Comunity areas, overall good. Nice pool and spa, not too crowded, gas barbecues (all over the complex), exercise room and bathrooms, nice and clean clubhouse. (not perfect, see negatives for details).Great View. Overall well maintained
6.Great location, close to everything...mall,bank, hospital,church, gas stations,parks,.....
7.Maintanece staff and office staff....Average
8.Security, no problems to my apartment or vehicles (knock on wood). although I hate that not everyone has a remote for the gate so people just push it open and leave it open.
NEGATIVES
1. Parking (for those living in the upper portion of the complex)
2. Storage, not a lot onsite and the "storage" room that comes with the place is tiny and most of the space is taken up by the water heater.
3. Maintanece and office staff...average
4. so called "Business Center" I spoke to another resident that said he was told it would re-open in 3 weeks (same thing I was told when I moved in) bottom line, it's been closed for over a year with no opening date in site. They should just stop lying to us drop the business center from their list of Community Ammenities.
5. Interesting experiences...if your up at the pool late at night, especially weekends don't count on it being too quiet. I'd say the vast majority of the residents are courteuos, friendly people, but there are those few that ruin it for everyone....really odd and uncomfortable experience; the bathrooms in the exercise room have saunas, however the sauna in the womens bathroom either keeps breaking down or hasn't worked in a long time but twice I went into the mens room after a workout and there was a female in the mens sauna with a male partner fully cloathed nothing really wrong going on, but if I'm going to use the shower It's a shock when you realize this chick has seen you in all your glory. I'm sure there would be hell to pay if the roles were reversed and a guy was in the womens sauna....maybe they should fix it
Bottom Line:
1. If you want parking and have a pet or don't mind neighbors having pets, get a place in the lower portion of the complex. I think there's some construction going on but at least everyone was informed well in advance.
2. I reccomend it.
3. Rents are getting kinda high, in fact once my lease is up I'll be looking for a new place...so if anyone out there can recomend a place in Mission Viejo I'm all ears.
