Not the worst place, but not the best

Ok I agree that this is not beverly hills. Nor is it compton. I used to live in North Orange County and my neighbors were having gun standoffs in the middle of the complex. Mission viejo is a very nice place to live. Promenade is a little bit on the lower end, but still a whole lot better than most places. I want to make things clear because someone in a previous post said you can park at the mall. You cannot park at the mall. I've lived here for 2 years. I have to say the first year was a nightmare. But, after the leasing office staff was replaced twice..It's actually not that bad. They seem to have a better grip on things. No more tow truck towing innocent people from their own parking spaces. Except for last night when they towed an escalade with rims on it from a VISITOR spot. Don't ask me why. Even so, I rarely see the tow truck anymore. (They've must have had a deal with the last office staff because there would be almost 10 tows in one night!) I have to admit there is probably are more than one family in one single apartment in this complex and is very annoying when you hear kids thumping and banging all day and night. But within the last 4 months things have quieted down a lot. There may be an occasional college student flying through someone's windsheild, or people breaking the front gate and the alarm going on all night. But for the most part, ever since the new staff came, things have been mellow. They don't harass you as much as the last staff and I personally feel like i could live here one more year. The new staff implemented a new "noise complaint" line where you can call and complain about noise, whereas before you would have to call the police. I really enjoy living here now with the new staff and the rent is very low. I feel that all of the annoyance that comes with this place is worth the rent, and you will have the same annoyance no matter what apartment you move into. Unless you can afford a house or condo. I do have one complaint! Parking spaces need to be wider or people just need to learn how to park. I get home and there's no parking because people park in two spaces, and then when i finally get to squeeze into one, i wake up the next morning with dings all over the sides of my car from car doors. Its safer parking in your carport. Anyways i hope i've helped someone decide whether or not to move here.

sounds like things may have been cleaned up a bit since i lived there.. I moved out about 8 months ago and had a horrible time while i lived there.. robbed not once.. but twice.. and i met various people around the neighborhood with the same problem. Seems like someone would just skulk around and wait for you to leave then slide open the single pane window (put a dowel across the front window.. they can be pushed inward and slid open) to get into your house while you are away. I have HAPPILY been living at a different complex now for about two hundred more a month.. Kinda hefty, oh.. and my review was the one that starts "wanna get robbed?" check it out.. that was my two cents while i lived there.. hard to believe it has changed much...
