My husband and I moved in to Vista Del Lago in May of 2004, at that point in time the place was pretty nice. The management did often come up with reasons to come into our apartment to check up on things but after about a year that started to go away. Our first major problem was when the upstairs water heater started leaking into our apartment and a mushroom grew out of our ceiling. Instead of haveing a professional service come in to check things out they sent the maitnence man in with a bottle of mold killer and spray paint.

For a long time we didn't really have any reason to deal with the leasing office so we just didn't especially because they are VERY unhelpful. Everytime I have asked them for any help they have just ignored my request. For instance when there were kids out front of our apartment smokeing pot I called the managemant office for help and they just told me to call the cops because they "couldn't" do anything. B.S.

Last winter our patio ceiling full on fell off! The company they hired to do maitnence on the patios did a horrible job and in turn the damn thing started falling apart, and guess what the same company fixed it and it's happening again!

In the past year things have really gone downhill, it is very obvious that they are filling apartments with whoever they can and not checking credit or rental history like they used to. Our new neighbors have paid their rent late, and had notices posted on their door, 3 times since Febuary. They also are keeping a collection of bottles and cans in trash bags on their patio, and they are not just getting these from home.

Our main reason for moving is that they tried to raise our rent $200 A MONTH! It was a 14% rent increase. As if that isn't bad enough we found out that the neighbors mentioned above are paying $200 less than we are right now! That is a $400 difference for the same apartment! When we confronted them about this the people in the office told us that we were wrong and they don't do that, later Jen (the manager) confirmed with my husband that that was in fact the case. Since then they have cancelled our mail on us (and of course denied it even after I confirmed this with the post office) and are forceing themselves into our apartment to do a "pre-moveout inspection" despite the fact that we signed a paper in their office that gave us the option to decline this inspection!

Over our time here there have only been two helpful people that have worked at this complex, both of which have left. Right now you do not want to deal with Eric or Jen. Eric is very pompous and thinks he knows the answer to everything despite the fact that he is just an ordinary leasing agent. We have had a number of problems with him. Jen is not at all concerned about her current tenets and is only focused on haveing apartments full, it doesn't matter who they are full with.

If you have a choice find somewhere else. This place used to be nice but it has really taken a nose dive in the last year.

This person is obviously being evicted or has some personal problem with the two named individuals they felt obligated to name. I would question this persons motives..

I just noticed that the same person went through each negative entry on 9-17 and posted rude comments to the original posters anonymously. The reason people use this site in the first place is to share their experiences with prospective tenants. If the complex has a lot of bad reviews then they need to fix what they are doing they do not need someone to come on a website and speculate that every single person that gave a bad review deserved to be treated the way they were. We were not evicted. THe two named individuals I do not know outside of my dealings with them at the complex.

I have lived in Vista Del Lago for about 3 years not and my partents have lived in another unit for over 10 years and the 2 people named above Eric and Jen have been more than helpfull to us. Jen was wonderful help when our apartment had flood for the 2nd time and even though that is not the greatest thing to have to go through twice, she was more than willing to help and even put new floors in an area of out apartment that normaly wouldnt have them. I think this is a great place to live and the maintence guys are great! Lindsay Beck
