I moved into a 1 bedroom apt. at the beginning of the summer and have been quite pleased with my decision to move into these apartments.
The layout of my apartment is ideal and the square footage is better than most of the newly built apartments in the area.
I haven't had any problems with parking. My assigned spot is right outside my apartment and there's plenty of open parking in the area of the complex I live in. I don't ever have a problem parking my second vehicle in a nearby spot.
When I first came to check out Vista del Lago they didn't have any empty apts. in the floorplan I wanted. They showed me a two bedroom and let me know the differences between that and the one bedroom I would be renting. Without even seeing the apt. I when ahead and put a deposit down. Luckily, I got a good apt. My husband and I did the walk through on our own and our only complaint was the microwave. You couldn't read the display on it, it was really old and crappy. On our walk through paper we wrote that we wanted a new microwave. A couple days later we walked in the apt. to find a brand new microwave installed! We were very pleased. Other than the microwave we haven't had to ask for any maintance or anything, so I really don't know how timely there response might be to any other sort of problem.
One thing I wish I would've been aware of before agreeing to my apt. was that by the smell of the place, the last tenants were smokers. Being a non-smoker this is a bit bothersome. And it's kind of weird, and I think it must have to do with the smoking that has gone on in the apt., but there's a rust colored dripping from the top of the walls that appears when it's humid (like when the dryer is going or you're taking a shower). Only thing I can think of is that it's tobacco smoke residue on the walls and ceiling being released by the humidity. Kind of strange...and gross.
One other thing that I just put up with is the A/C unit for the apt. above us is right outside my bedroom window (I like to sleep w/ the window open). It's REALLY loud. Lucky for me, I have the ability to fall asleep while sitting front row at a rock concert. But for others that could be a real problem.
Other than that I really like the apt. and complex. It's in a beautiful, safe area and I just really love the lay out of my apartment.
