Our one bedroom had a decent layout. We liked the wood burning fire place and that the bathroom was separate from the bedroom so if you had guests, they didn't have to walk into your room to use the bathroom and the kitchen had a bar which gave the place a more open feel. You can rent a fridge for $25/mo and a stacking washer and dryer for an addition $25/mo. Those were the rates is 2007. We chose to buy a fridge from Criags List and that saved us much money.

One complaint is their rent prices fluctuate daily. If you signed a lease two years ago you could be paying $300-$400 more for a two bedroom place than what is currently being rented ($1100-1200). They price rent on supply and demand. It's just kind of odd and seems sneaky. However, if you want a place to live, you can get a good deal now (June 09) here. Security deposit is low and I hear they try and take most of it so don't expect to see much in return. Again, a traditional part of renting apartments.

Parking - as long as you get home by 8, you should have no problems finding parking. If you get home after 8, be smart and have other cars park in open spaces and keep your carport space open. Everyone gets one carport space.

Noise - Our apartment is one away from Santa Margarita Pkwy. For those unfamiliar with the area, it's a medium size street which creates some noise. We chose not to let it bother us and there are many more units available further from the streets. The pools are noisy in the summer, but what pool isn't' I can't ususally hear my neighbors unless the child underneat us is playing thier drums or if there is an argument with very raised voices. Every day life... no problems.

Grounds - they keep the ground very neat. There are always people picking up trash and the gardners do a decent job. Nothing exceptional, but not trashy or unkept either. There are 4 spas and 2 pools. The 2 spas not near the pools are nice and much quieter as you don't have a bunch of people playing in the pool.

Safety - I have never felt unsafe or worried here.

Mainenance - They are ususally pretty responsive to repairs. If you are responsible and don't abuse things, you won't have much that needs repairs.

Staff - the leasing office tends to not be the sharpest tools in the shed, but with a little patience, they get the job done.

It is an apartment, the carpet is cheap. Make it what you want. We have enjoyed living here and would do it again if we wern't moving out of state.
