Horrible, traumatic experience

When looking for apartments with a longtime friend, I thought the free month of rent and low deposit was great. The apartment had a washer and dryer. Only downside was that they did not pay any utilities. So, my friend and I sign a year lease and move in together. My friend supposedly received money from her "photography" business and had promised to pay rent, along with getting a side job. Never happened. Five months into our lease, I finally put my foot down because I didn't want to lose my home and couldn't afford the whole rent payment, and told her "you need to pay your share" and she miraculously started paying it, though signing payment agreements with the manager all along when you're only allowed to sign two per year (when they let her do it four or five times). Come December, I, in good faith mind you, pay my portion of the rent. Somehow, roommate can't pay rent when she's been receiving money all along. Here I am, out of money to live on, can't make a payment arrangement with the apartments to save my roof and have her just signed off the lease, because she used up all the allotted agreements. So, instead of getting an eviction notice on my record, I decide the only option is to break the lease. We were no longer friends which she was perfectly fine about, and then the management asks me when I can start paying them back and that the minimum amount per month is $200. SCREW THEM! If they start getting money on her part, then maybe I'll give them $10 a month. I lost my deposit, months of rent that I'll probably never get back from her even if I take her to small claims, along with stolen items and an energy bill with a lost $200 deposit on that. Oh, and when they threatened eviction and I gave them my keys, they let her stay in the apartment for a week. COMPLETE BULL! HEARTLESS! Now here I am, trying to save up money just for a deposit and moving expenses, hoping that my rental record isn't flawed.

This sounds like a personal problem. YOu made the decision to move in with this "friend". The apartment management is not responsible for your friend not paying. You signed a contract and are obligated to fulfill it. This forum is supposed to be about the facilities and true critique of the management. Not your personal drama.

Excuse me? This is a true critique of the management. The manager is a liar. You don't know other details about my life, and I find it funny that you're coward enough to post anonymously. Get a life. I wouldn't put it past anyone to say you're most likely working for the company, or someone close to the manager. I've seen other fake posts about this particular apartment complex. Har-dee-har-har.
