I'm a little suprised. It sounds to me like all the negative reviews are coming from residents and all the positive reviews are coming from the apartment management trying to defend themselves or someone close enough to the management team to know that they are working 70 hours to keep this place running.
That's not a good sign. It sounds to me like the residents are tired of not being heard by the management and have no other choice but to post comments on here. It also sounds like the management team has thier own complaints and problems and are posting their comments. That's what this website is all about. It's a great website.
I think the residents who are complaining are just as much at fault as the management for not thoroughly checking out the place before signing a lease. We all know that there is going to be problems at any apartment complex. From what I read and have heard about Brooks Landing, its a brand new place, so it goes without saying that its going to have its share of problems.
It sounds like one of those problems is the management team. That's sad when the team is working 70 hours. Hire some new people or something. And when someone has to post a comment telling residence to leave and buy a house, that's not good. That sounds like someone is stressing out over residents complaints.
My husband and I are moving to Modesto in a month or so and have stopped by Brooks Landing to take a look the apartments. Both times there was no help available. So we just took a tour ourselves with our friends that already live here. Honestly, the apartments are beautiful and the area seems realy quiet and relaxing.
But in the end we decided after reading this website and hearing what our friends who live hear have said, that we would rather live somewhere where we know that we were going to get the customer service that we would need. Maybe next year after our lease is up, we will move to this complex. Hopefully by then all the gliches will be ironed out and the apartment complex will run more efficient.

While I agree with you for the most part, I have to disagree with a couple of things. I had posted a positive review and I am not management or close to management. I was only in town for 6 months, signed a 6-month lease, and loved my time there. I guess I was just lucky enough not to live around kids who think they have to flush the whole roll of toilet paper at once, so I had none of the toilet problems. The only times I ever talked to management was when I had a question about something or had to put in a maintenance request (which was always taken care of within 24 hours). The other thing I disagree with is how you said it is sad that someone is telling people to leave the apartment and buy a house. Isn't it obvious that they are advertising for themselves? It seemed pretty obvious to me that they were trying to use the displeasure of the people who left negative comments to pocket a commission. I'm not saying the place is perfect. I'm saying I personally had no problems during my 6 months there. If I had been planning to stay in the area longer, I wouldn't have left the complex. While I think your personal decision seems well informed for you and your review seems uninflammatory, I don't see how you can give it a grade everything a 1 when you have never lived there. |

wow i was planning on moving to brooks landing, guess i wouldn`t be interested anymore besides it`s better to try to own a property then to waste your money paying rent, there`s cheap condos and townhomes in modesto anyway.

poor poor customer service. The Staff here is not intrested in anyone renting here, as I myself have been forever ignored of my complaints, and frankly no body here really cares. As long as a pay check is being recieved WHO CARES RIGHT!!
