I lived at Valley Oak Apartments for 4 years while teaching at St. Peter Lutheran School. My position was terminated, as the school lost its enrollment, so I had to move. Valley Oak was a special place for me and I made friends with many of my neighbors. The office personell is outstanding and very helpful whenever needed. Pete did a great job of getting repairs completed as quickly as possible, very kind and respectful. The grounds were well kept. I enjoyed the barbaque areas, where tables were provided, and this area was great for me and my neighbors, as we would gather there for our social times. The parking area was ample for all visitors and residents, with ample room between parked vehicles to open your door fully and not come near your neighbor's car. We had an option of two spaces, if necessary, I used only 1. The apartment outside storage is twice the size of where I am now living and I sure liked the walk-in pantry, as I could keep my canned goods at eye level and not have to hunt. I am short, and the cupboards were down at my level to reach things in them. The layout of the apartments made for a feeling of a lot of room and open. I also liked that the two bedrooms were on either side of the main area, rather than next to each other. This was my first experience living in an apartment and I wasn't quite sure how it would be for me, but I am thankful that I had the opportunity to live at Valley Oak, in Modesto,CA, as it enabled me to learn about apartment living and what to look for as to the base facilities, apartment personell, and general upkeep of the grounds. Thank you for making my 4 years living at Valley Oak a wonderful experience and keep up the great work everyone is doing to make the residents comfortable.
