I wish we could have spoke with residents before moving in. What was promised during our application process versus what our rental invoice is the first thing. They had mislead us to believe that our rent payment would have utilities included and that we were being given a promotional special of $200 off the rent. Under the addendum of the lease, they had listed the promotion and the monthly rental payment (what the total would be without the promotion). Even before signing the lease, we double-checked with the landlord, and she told us we had nothing to worry about, it would be reflected in the invoice. Two months later, we come to find a notice to vacate because we owed "back" rent, there was an "unfortunate" mistake with the invoicing. They claimed that the "promotional" montly rental payment was the amount stated on the total. They also tacked on the utilites, despite the notes it would be included on our application. During this whole time, our requests to have appliances and several leaks repaired had gone unanswered, despite phonecalls, trips to the lobby, formal signed letters and cornering the repairs staff. We are new to the area, and it is laughable, the number of strangers we bump into who say they could not wait to move off this property. Poorly managed, not worth the trouble or heartache.

Do you know how to read, first of all you need to read, before signing anything, so the joke is on you not the staff. So you should be ashamed of yourself! Next read the fair housing rules/regulations before pointing fingers. That means every property in California would not be able to advertise anywhere, hint why all properties READ all rules/regulations before doing anything. So who really is the shady person! Not them, but you.

They try several somewhat shady tactics from time to time, like advertsing on Craigs list for a lower rent to NEW people only, so much for fair housing for all!!!

The Fountains are the ABSOLUTE WORST place to live in Moorpark! The staff is two faced; they tell you one thing and do another. We moved here in August of 08 with a one year agreement and couldn't see our place before move in because, "the carpet is being replaced". On move in day, the carpet was badly stained, 2 windows were shattered, the fridge was broken, 2 closet doors and the pantry door were off the hinges and there was water damage. They had the windows replaced 2 weeks later but until that time we were too afraid to sleep in our apartment and there was no rent relief due to the condition it was in. When we got our first rain, our living room ceiling calapsed as well as the bathroom. It took them 2 months to get someone to look at it and another month to get it fixed. Meanwhile we had some more rain! Shabby job on fixing it and it is still leaking! I have no doubt the good reviews are from staff. Potential tenants- DON'T MOVE HERE. It SUCKS!

LOVE THAT LAST POST EVERY WORD OF IT IS SUCH TRUTH PLAIN AND SIMPLY STATES THE KIND OF BS YOU GO THROUGH HERE. ive never been through more crap with more people. i feel like a petition or something needs to get signed cos we all know who in the office is behind most of this crazy bs and it feels like nothing can be done
