I lived here from 2005-2007 and now again in 2009. Some of the negatives you read WERE true, but for the last 6 months I've been back (FEB 2009 - JULY 2009), none of those comments are true. Let me break it down for you, I'll give you the good, bad, old, current and you can make a decision on your own.
2005-2007 Review:
- Management was truly fake upfront. Once you signed your lease, they felt their job was complete, offering nothing more than the bare minimum.
- Security was on site, however too friendly with party renters, which showed a lack of professionalism.
- Maintenance' At this time I didn't even know it existed. It was that bad.
- YGNITION CABLE ONLY'!'!' - Whoa, I could go on all day about Ygnition, but you can simply Google them and see their track record.
2009 - Current:
- I didn't see one face in the front office from 2005-2007 time, which was a plus right off the gate. We moved in at a decent price and was able to pick from 3 apartments on different sides of the complex, so we didn't feel forced into a certain area.
- I've seen Security around, but never hanging around with renters, which is a good thing. I haven't seen any vandalism and the pool has been a pleasant surprise.
- When we moved in I was missing 2 pieces to my washer/dryer and maintenance saved me a trip to the Do-It-Center and not only gave me the parts but replaced them for me. Sure it was cheap, small parts, but it was a strong sign of improvement from the previous years.
- We were able to actually get AT&T U-verse service. I was shocked! Granted Ygnition was still there because I saw an install guy the complex, but the ability for me to actually choose my provider was HUGE.
Closing Comments:
When we left in 2007 and I said I'd never go back, but the truth is from Simi to TO, it's the nicest apartment complex at the best price. My only current gripe is the Gym equipment is a little out dated, but that's because I'm OCD and expect the best!
