I would like to take this opportunity to ask those of you who are looking for an apartment and reading the reviews here to keep an open mind and come visit us to see for yourself that this is an extremely well maintained and safe environment in which to live. While there are many negative comments about us, I am sure that you are savvy enough to know that they are one sided and that anybody can make anything up.
I would like to try to get some facts straight.
Most of the comments are made by the same few people, spam like in nature.
Some of the issues and comments are so ridicules, how does the fact that Mt. View has a lot of fast food establishments have anything to do with rating the bldg.' Most cities and towns have them. We have several wonderful parks to enjoy, Mitchell, Eagle, Renghstorff and Cuesta to name a few.
The gardeners can be irritating, however if we tried to please everyone on this issue, Id be sending them back and forth from one end of the bldg. to the other all day, that is the nature of their jobs, we all want well maintained, clean and pleasing landescaping.
We also have no control over the time or how noisy the garbage men are, perhaps we should discontinue garbage pickup to appease those who are so sensative'
I have read comments about the fact that we are picky about how our residents keep their patios and balconies. This is true, no one wants to look out their windows and see unsightly views. Things that make the patios attractive as patio furniture, plants and flowers are fine but messy and dirty towels and clothes and garbage are not.
We are trying to ensure that we dont attract unwanted pest by keeping boxes and garbage on the patios and balconies. Which brings me to the topic of the so called ant and rodent problem. Calif. has an ant problem, especially in the rainy season, something we have no control over. We do have a pest control service that regularly services the bldg. throughout the year. If they are particularly bad we call for extra service.
Unfortunately rodents have been around longer than us humans, that is a fact of life. However I can assure you that we do not have a problem with them. Like any other creature they will seek shelter where available. They gained entry to the apartment in question by crawling from the roof onto the balcony, and into the "open" door. No matter we told them over and over again, as well the pest control company coming out to see that the patio door was open, this person refused to see the benefits of keeping their patio door closed and not wide open while they were at work all day. It was an open invitation!
The laundry room hours as well as the other amenities are open from 9am to 10pm, we lock them up at 10pm so as not to disturb the residents that live above and next door to the laundry rooms, gym and recreation rooms.
The laundry rooms are bright, clean and huge, a fact that we have always taken pride in.
The complex is more than well lighted at night for safety as well as having the security gates.
About the people who commented that they were unhappy with the amount of their security deposit return and was taking us to small claims court, our photos showed that the apartment was left in a deplorable condition and the judge decided in our favor.
We charge no more than is absolutely necessary to get the apartment in a re-rentable condition.
While we do our very best to ensure that maintenance request are done in a timely manner, occassionally we miss the mark. The comments about the electrical problem one of our residents had was determined to be beyond our expertise, unfortunately the professional companies we called were all booked up over the weekend but the resident was not in the dark as it effected a small area of the apartment.
We pride ourselves on keeping a well maintained, clean safe environment in which to live, and want you to consider this your home. The majority of our residents are happy here and a lot have been here for 10, 20 years and longer. That is a testament to the quality of our bldg. and service.
The office is open Mon-Fri 10-6, Sat. 10-5. There is always a manager on duty, however if you happen to come by while we are showing an apartment or out on the grounds, at lunch, et, then you can always reach us by phone and also leave a messasge on the machine.
Please keep in mind that writing this did not give me any "not applicable" options for the ratings of the things listed on this site, so that I could excuse myself from seeming biased on the answers!
We hope that the comments from one or two residents that did not agree with our policies or fit into our community do not keep you from visiting us to see for yourself.
