The apartments (I was in a 1/1) are typically in great shape, and are very spacious. A major plus is the gas stove in the kitchen - otherwise everything is electric. Also, it has an elevator, which is nice. Shopping is great nearby - both Safeway and Albertsons, as well as Trader Joes, Sears, Target, Walmart and a bunch of other stores within walking distance (10 minutes) Very close to the San Antonio Caltrain station (5 min walk), which is an express train stop.

Minuses - several
1. No dishwasher. At this rent level, a dishwasher should be standard.
2. The train tracks are right next door. If you're a light sleeper, look elsewhere. When my windows are open and a train goes by, I can't hear the TV or continue a phone conversations. And given that Caltrain runs every 20 minutes in the mornings and evenings.....
3. The swimming pool is ok, but is frequently full of leaves and other junk. Not cleaned frequently enough.
4. The rec room is used as storage by the management. Enough said.
5. No outside storage. In-apartment storage areas are quite good - but overall, storage space is lacking.
6. After being told that rental prices were relatively stable (when I moved in) over the past few years, I got hit with a 30%(!) hike after the first few months.

General -
1. Cellphone coverage. If you're with Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon, you're ok. Otherwise, no good.
2. DSL was supposed to be here a year and a half ago. Still waiting.
