VINEYARD TERRACE IS A SLUM

I rented this via internet. I moved from across country and needed a place to live for a year. The sales sheet looked good and the sales office made it sound safe.

The "manager" Geri, was a resident in the complex before it was renovated, when it was considered Napa's big slum.. her social skills were crude and uneducated. I could not get any resolutions form the office so did some research and found the company that owned the complex is the Ezralow Co. in Los Angeles. If you read about the family on the internet they sound like self appointed socialites. touting their philanthropy..however, they are slumlords. The company, the Ezralow family from Los Angeles totally ignored my calls not wanting to be bothered by the likes of a common tenant. ( I owned a business, had a television show and am an author). I moved to Napa to work on a project involving organics and wine and thought this would be a good place until I found a home. They hired a maintenance man that had a criminal record. The units are on stilts as they are in a flood area and they get really cold in winter and impossible to heat...and in summer they are expensive to cool. The units are cheaply made and they rent to people without checking them out. I was paying $1,100 for one bedroom unit and could never get them to maintain anything. Everything is cheap and falls apart, even the paint on the wall comes off when washed. In the winter during the rains I would have 6 or more inches of standing water at all times surrounding my front step area...I had to walk through all that water and mud with my dog for 15 feet before reaching a clear sidewalk. Avoid Vineyard Terrace like the plague. I even have photos of garbage flowing into the driveway, the water, and a host of other issues. You can also hear everything, babies crying, people talking, dishwashers running, through the paper thin walls. I have attached 4 photos of the constant flooding and mud along with the open garbage bins that come with a stench that comes into the units. I hope all 4 photos show up as I have photos of the garbage, the planks they put in front of my unit so I could get out ( I almost fell on the slippery planks...that stayed there for 3 weeks!!!) Stay away from this place. It makes my skin crawl to even think about it. And yes, they did have a registered sex offender as a maintenance man. He has been replaced but when the Ezralow family allowed him to work in a complex with young children.
