Noise, gangs, incompetent management, and more noise!

At first it seemed great - the grounds are attractive (hiding horrors within, believe me) and they took my large dog. But I endured less than 6 weeks before gladly paying their trumped-up $1500 lease-breaking penalty just to escape. The noise is unbearable: from cars, car stereos and hoodlums in the parking lots, the pool areas, and many of the tenants (to be fair, there are a lot of nice folks here, but it only takes a few -------s to trash the quality of life). It is apparent from the tagging and the blatant drug dealing in the parking lots and in several choice apartments that there is NO screening of tenants and NO serious efforts at security. The pools are essentially toilets full of unsupervised, shrieking kids during the day and drunk neighborhood (non-tenant) gangsters by night. And then there is the office staff and management... There are really no words to describe the apathy, incompetence and general sleaziness that abounds in the rental office. If Hillcrest took the money they spend on crappy public barbeques and other fake brochure-dressing items and used it to hire one staffer with a few ethics and more than three active brain cells, life there might be more tolerable. But that will never happen, so my recommendation is to run away as fast as you can. Don?t even consider living at Hillcrest. I?d rather eat my dog than ever rent there again.
