BEDBUG INFESTATION
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 10/2/2007
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
We moved into our apartment, and within a week starting getting bites. We had no idea where they were coming from. We thought that maybe they were mosquito bites. Finally we contacted the office thinking that maybe it was fleas because we never saw any mosquitoes. They blew us off, sending out an inspector over a week later. The inspector said that it was bedbugs. The office waited another week to schedule the exterminator. By the time the exterminator got there, my roommate and I were covered in bites. We complained even after the exterminator came. And, now, 3 months later, we STILL have bedbugs. Meanwhile, of course, we're still paying full rent, even though we live in garbage bags, and can't sleep. But the real kick in the shorts is that the complex expected us to sign a one-time only credit for a month's rent. That didn't even cover the laundering costs for all of the items that we had to clean because of this problem.
