After seeing the reviews on this site I was scared to live here. Repeated postings about vandalism worried me. But after living here for two months, I am so far very pleased.
The value is awesome. Like the poster said before me, this apartment is inexpensive compared to the surrounding area. I also like the enormous trees and the well-kept landscaping.
Parking pretty good. My fiancee has the assigned covered space, but there are still close spaces all around each building. Only three times have I had to park a little walk away.
What else' We have tennis courts, a smallish gym, a few pools, meeting rooms...
The employees/rental officers are hit or miss. Some seem a bit slow and need a little customer service training, and others are chipper, knowledgeable, and eager to help.
The best thing about this apartments are the small backyards that are available in some of the downstairs units. I use the word 'small' because compared to a single family home, it is small. Compared to any apartment that I've ever seen in northern or southern California, the backyard is the biggest. And since they allow you to change anything you want, my fiancee and I have had so much fun killing ourselves/landscaping.
If you're looking for something in the Newbury Park/Thousand Oaks area, I'd recommend you give it a look.

Definitely the back yards are the best thing about this place. Oh yeah, that's the only good thing. Not a good deal. We are leaving next month and found a 2 bed/2 bath with washer/dryer in unit for only $100 more a month than our 1 bed/1 bath without the W/D in westlake.
