This is a very unfortunate situation. After all, Essex is the project that is supposed to set an example for Oakland. The is one project which others are supposed to look up to (the mayor's 10K initiative). With the land itself having a bad history (search the web to learn), the failure of Essex does not help Oakland one bit. Essex has poured over 60 millions into this project and yet placed the trust into a few wrong hands which ultimately disappoint the city, residents and investors alike.

Despite its beautiful look, the apartment has the lowest rating overall compared to the rest in the area, and there is a reason for it.

Now, they have decided to sell and get out. I think the asking price is reasonable but have decided not to buy. I will end up spending extra $$$ to purchase something somewhere else similar. But, I will always miss the building and its view but not the rest.

I sincerely wish the best for those who stay and buy. Hopefully they will do it right this time.

If you have a chance, visit an apartment complex named "San Marcos" in Richmond, same people with the same attitude being run by Essex !!!

Check out the brand new complex named "the tiles" in Richmond. The staff over there is absolutely beautiful and fantastic !!!
