The Grand Lake area is full of buildings similar to this one, built in the late 60s and early 70s and I'm just not a fan of them in general. They tend to be ugly and cheaply made. That said, of those types of buildings, this one is one of the better ones. It's fairly clean, the pool area is nice if unusable (pool is always in the shade and unheated, so it's too cold to use). The management is responsive, although impersonal. During a conflict with my abusive ex, I made the mistake of asking them if could change the locks. They said no, and I dropped it, but they called him and told him which sent him into a violent rage and I could've been seriously harmed - not a good understanding of domestic issues! The parking area has had break-ins.
Bottom line: if you're on a budget and want to live in this area, it's not a bad deal, just make sure you're not on the freeway side of the building (I wasn't and we had no issues with freeway noise). The patios are fairly large which is nice. Just don't expect luxury because you won't find it here.
