Tennants have to pay for renovation when they move out.

When we moved out of our townhouse unit recently, we were verbally told that the unit was in good shape by their inspector and there was no repair work required except carpet and house cleaning that has to be done by their agents.
Today, we received the final settlement statement and discovered that a charge equivalent to the painting of 10 walls (about half the walls in the units) was made to our deposit. We cannot imagine so much painting required as only 2 well behave adults lived in the unit. The actual charge for cleaning work exceeded their published charge by 15%. WE were not aware of these expenses at the time of leasing the unit.
So, tennants beware and be prepared for surprises when they move out.
